Since planning our digi pack idea, we decided to slightly alter the front cover so that it looks more original and interesting to the audience. We still plan on using the balloons, however we will have hands holding the balloons from the side. This will make the photo shoot easier as we will be able to control the balloons better and get them into a position we are happy with. We decided to use a cannon camera as they produce high quality pictures and we wanted our images to be clear. Firstly we blew up the balloons to the same size, then we laid them flat on the floor and had someone hold them in the position we had earlier decided. During the planning process we stated that we was not sure whether to write on the letters, or to edit them on at a later date. After looking at the balloons we felt that it would look neater to edit them on using photo shop. Once the camera was set up we began taking shots of the hand holding the balloons from the side. We then stopped and uploaded the pictures to the IMac computers to see what they looked like on full screen. As a group we decided that we should try taking some shots of our original idea, which was to have the balloons laid flat in a line. Although we were faced with some difficulty with the balloons moving, we liked how they were positioned when the shots were taken. We then took some shots of a hand holding the balloons, however this time the hand was central and the balloons were much closer together.
I feel that as a group we all worked well together as we were organised which made the process of taking the images more effective. In our group we have two members that take Photography as an A Level, this was helpful as they understood how things should be positioned and angled in different lighting's. We may decide to use balloons on our promotional poster, as this will show a link between all of our productions. One thing we could have improved on was actually taking the image against a real brick wall, instead of editing one in on Photo Shop. However we felt that we could make more editing progress by inserting an image in, as it would look neater once we have adjusted different aspects. We also could have used the green screen to attain the brick wall background, however we wanted enough time to edit the images to a high standard.
