Filming Day 4 - 21/02/15

This day of filming was slightly different to the rest, as we were filming an event that was happening at our school. The colour run is an annual event to raise money for comic relief, where people take part in a run while throwing powdered paint. We felt that this was a great opportunity to do some filming as the colour would really stand out and fit in well with the meaning of the song. As this event was pre-planned and there was lots of people involved, we had to make sure that we knew what kind of camera shots we were doing, so that we didn't miss the event. First we made sure that we had all of our equipment, then we made our way to where the event was being held.

As everyone was facing forwards we felt that it would be most suitable to also film face on so that the audience captures the peoples facial expressions. We knew that we only had one attempt at getting the shot right so we practised getting the camera into the correct position so that when the time came, we knew what we were doing. When everyone was in position, we fixed the camera to the tripod so that it was steady, we then waited for the signal. When the teacher signalled, people simultaneously threw the coloured power paint in the air, whilst we were filming. When it came to editing, we felt that the shots we had filmed fitted in really well with the lyrics and the overall mood of the song. The colour really stands out and links in well with our Digi Pack as our CD inlays feature a lot of bright colours and writing. We decided that we would repeat this shot in our music video, due to it being very short and snappy, we felt that it would fit well around the chorus. It was very light on the day so we didn't need to edit the brightness.
